Chicago style with full notes starting in each chapter

Hi. I have a multi-chapter Word document and am currently using Chicago with full notes. There is no bibliography. I have endnotes at the end of each chapter, I would like a repeated citation to use the full format if it is in different chapter from the original citation. Subsequent citations in the same chapter should be shortened (as they are now), I am not using short titles.

How could the Chicago/full style be modified to allow this?

Thanks

Sue

  • Citation styles have no awareness of sections or any other within-document way to demarcate chapters. The only way to do this is to author in separate Word files for each chapter (which is also faster) and to assemble a final document using copies of each chapter with Zotero citations unlinked.
  • Thanks for the insight.

I think I will find it easier to check the endnotes in each chapter for incomplete citations and manually modify them after I disconnect from Zotero
