Local server drive as a local backup

Hello,

I am catching up with the admin part of my company, and want to push Zotero as the default reference software.
BUT (it's a big but)

I don't have too mcuh of a deep knowledge of Zotero, only used it for my PhD and papers, not going through the high-level zotero gymnastics.
They already have been using Zotero for a long time, but I think in a very unoptimal way...

So their is already an important papers database on Zotero, that would get migrated to it's own Zotero personal drive,
and we also have local saves created on the computers on the personal C drives of each users. Not the best thing, consuming a lot of storage for nothing. We would like all users to use the same folder on the server drive to reduce data usage and not needing each users to make a backup on their C: hard drive.

Using the best of my paint skills, I wanted to know if this could be done? (please see the figure).
