Adding items to subcollections automatically ads the item to all superior collections

Today when I started Zotero, I found that all items in a subcollection have been added to all collectons containing that subcollection. Also, if I remove an item from a collection, it is removed from all subcollections. This seems new, and is a deal breaker for my use of Zotero. What is the story here?

This sounds like you have the show items from subcollections option checked in 'View'?

Thank you. I did have it checked. I unchecked it, and the problem seems to be solved.
