Debug help needed: pdfs not saving from Chrome connector on Jstor

Hi! I just got a new computer (Macbook Air with M3 chip) and PDFs are no longer saving automatically to Zotero from Jstor when I use the Zotero connector in Chrome the way they would on my old 2017 Macbook Air. Here's an example link:
https://www-jstor-org.libproxy.berkeley.edu/stable/pdf/10.7591/j.ctv1fkgbng.8.pdf?refreqid=fastly-default:4f75d38f5adca8eda80fb15b6215412c&ab_segments=&origin=&initiator=&acceptTC=1

When I open the pdf in Chrome from the Jstor website the Zotero connector shows the chapter icon in the corner. When I hover over the icon it says "Save to Zotero (JSTOR) has access to this site" but then when I click on it the "Saving to:..." box opens for a moment but then either disappears or just stays there indefinitely without loading further to the step where it would usually tell me whether the pdf was able to download or not.

Any thoughts on why this could be? Some new back end privacy functions in the Sonoma OS that I don't know about? Please help! This was my favorite Zotero function and I'd be so bummed if I couldn't do it anymore.
  • While saving from the PDF URL should work, note that on a supported site like JSTOR, you should save from the article page. Does that work?
  • It's saving to Zotero now (thank you!) but the pdf still won't download.
  • Does it work if you click to download the PDF for the article (and accept a terms notice that JSTOR shows), then navigate back to the article page and try to save with the Zotero Connector?
