Zotero not generating bibliography

Hi, I'm trying to update the bibliography in an existing MS Word document after adding a new reference.

But when I press add/edit bibliography, Zotero only generates the new reference, not any of the previous ones.

When I check the debug output, it seems like Zotero is generating an ongoing error
[unrelated error removed — D.S.]

Is this an issue for my IT department?

(and almost certainly unrelated to the websocket error, so no, you shouldn't need IT for this)

Thank you both for your prompt replies. I've read through the article and I _think_ I understand what it is saying.

The document has done through editing by my supervisor, so it's possible they opened it in another program and flattened the references.

At the same time, I've tried opening previous versions that, AFAIK, were working OK, and they report the same error.

Could it be the plug-in? Of maybe the document has been flattened for a very long time without me noticing.

It would be the document, not the plugin. As noted on the linked page, you can generally toggle Word field codes in the document, completely separately from Zotero, to see if the Zotero citations (which are just standard Word fields) have become flattened. So if you're not seeing field codes in the older versions, they were already flattened at that time.
