Sorting notes by (eg) date added?

On the desktop, in the main view, I can sort items by any column, such as Creator or Date added. However, the notes attached to an item seem to sort alphabetically only. Is there any way to sort subitems by other criteria than alphabetical?

I tried "secondary sort", but to no effect.
