[Zotero 7 Beta] Persistent background color for formatted text in annotation comments

In notes, the format of the text currently selected is visible in the toolbar by the persistent background color around it:

Is it possible to get this to work also for annotation comments?

The text selection and popup window stay active after exiting the text edition mode. I am not sure if this is intentional?
