Why hightlights in some saved files (pdf) in zotero come with note symbols and some do not

As I say in the title, why did this (Zotero 6.0.36) happen in my second Windows PC (Win 11) but this is not the case in the older Win 10 PC? I find those note symbols a bit distracting. Is there a way that I did not come across and that we can get rid of them?

The note symbol means there's a comment on the highlight. You can see the comment when you click on the highlight (either in the popup widget or the annotation sidebar).

Thanks. Yes, that's true. I just used the "highlight" tool in Zotero to highlight the selected text but did not use "add note" tool. Does Zotero get puzzled?

I tried to delete the added translation then the note symbol disappeared. I realized that the translation was added to the highlight due to the setting off translator add-on. But still weird, in some files, when the text was highlighted, it was not translated and added as annotation comments.

No, the translation plugin is adding a comment to the highlight annotation. Nothing to do with note annotations.

For problems with a plugin, you'll need to contact the plugin developer.
