PDF reader of zotero in iPad can not type text comments through the keyboard.

When I use the expanded screen to read literature, the ipad version of zotero's PDF reader can't enter text annotations via keyboard since comments can only be entered with the apple pencil now, which is not favorable for the use of the extended screen of the iPad.Thus I have following two questions:
1)When will the ability to type text comments through the keyboard be added to the iPad version of zotero's PDF reader?
2) How can I change the PDF reader in the iPad version of zotero?
  • Hello @zt666666,
Even in the expanded screen, you should be able to tap on an annotation and type a comment, without an apple pencil. Can you please clarify what is your use case, ideally by providing a screenshot or video? Thanks
  • Thank you very much for your response. The type of comments I want to enter is shown in the picture below ( marked in blue), which is realized through other PDF reader.

  • If I understand correctly you want a Text annotation, which shows the text on the page. Unfortunately, this is not possible currently, but support is planned for an upcoming update. For the time being you can indeed emulate this by drawing an Ink annotation, or adding a Note annotation.

The PDF reader we use is bundled with the iOS/iPadOS Zotero version, and cannot be changed.

    I hope this info helps.

Thank you so much for your explanations and answers. The problem you have described is exactly what I am experiencing. I am very happy when I heard that the update of a Text annotation showing the text on the page had been planned, which is eagerly awaited by me.
    Have a nice day!!
