Adding citation to Libreoffice causes footer to disappear

Hi, I have Libreoffice (v24.2) on W10 and a document template with a footer for page numbering. When I add a citation from Zotero by the LO plugin the footer disappears.
Is it something in my setup?

Thanks, that was very helpful. I have reverted to LibreOffice v7 and do not now have the problem. I also saw the LO bug report which covers what I was seeing so hope it is cleared in due course.
