Upgrade StorageiPadOS: Copy from PDFs with shortcut (Cmd + C)

I’m encountering an issue where I’m unable to use keyboard shortcuts to copy text from the built-in PDF reader in the Zotero app on iPadOS. I’m using an Apple Magic Keyboard, and after selecting the text, I cannot use Cmd + C to copy it. Instead, I have to use a two-finger tap on the Magic Keyboard to bring up the context menu and select “Copy” (it seems that is not the standard OS menu). Additionally, the usual OS multitouch gestures, like “pinching closed with three fingers” to copy, do not work either.
Interestingly, copying text works fine when I’m using it in other contexts within the app, such as from a note in the PDF editor.
Can anyone help me understand what I might be doing wrong or if there’s a workaround for this?
