Zotero's Quick Citation feature in full-screen mode

I'm experiencing difficulties using Zotero's Quick Citation feature in full-screen mode for Word (on a mac). Instead, I keep getting kicked out of full-screen mode and have to make citations without having Word in the background. What can I do to resolve this?
