Replace journal titles with abbreviations using Zotero API

Hello, I'm using the Zotero API to link a Zotero library to a bib-file in Overleaf, and the references show the complete journal title listed in the Zotero "Publication" field, not the journal abbreviation listed in the Zotero "Journal Abbr" field. Is there a way to change this behavior?
  • No, not via the API. BBT can do this and you can then link a BBT (locally) generated .bib file to Overleaf with whatever mechanism you want (like Dropbox or github).
  • Thanks—that's too bad. Would it be possible to make this a feature request?

I'm using BBT locally and synchronizing with Overleaf through a git submodule in a larger git repo, but this requires extra steps to keep everything up to date, at least as I am doing it. If there is any documentation about setting up Zotero-Git(Hub)-Overleaf integration with BBT, I'd appreciate a link to it.
  • PS: I also noticed that some of the fields that are included in the Zotero-Overleaf integration are not handled well by my bib-style (RevTeX 4.2). BBT provides control over the fields that are exported, and this would be a nice feature to have in the Zotero-Overleaf integration.
