Feature Request: allow temporary citation style changes, such as with-or-without superscript

edited May 1, 2024
Hello,

I'm writing a thesis using Zotero 6, and I need to inset some citations like

"...some quotations<>[1]<>..."

( "<>" means superscript)

and

"...In [2], something is...."

I know the "<>[1]<>" one can be easily done using a prepared CSL Style, but when I continue to inset the "[2]" one, I find it's hard to both cancel superscript format and preserve the updating functionality. Once I clear the superscript format in the citation editor, this citation won't get updated any longer. Making modification in Word directly doesn't work as well, the superscript format will emerge again after I refresh the citation. I have to change the format one by one every time. It's a huge pain for me.

I've done some quick searches here and it seems no one posted issues like this yet. If there are some options allowing to preserve modified format of certain citations, it would be great.
