Adding citations in MS Word very slow

I am working on a MS Word document with hundreds of zotero references and during the past week, zotero has been so slow when adding citation (taking up to a minute or two to see the citation window). Even opening "Document Preferences" in the document takes quite a bit of time. I disabled "Automatically update citations," but this doesn't change the speed. This isn't a large document (5 MB), but 200+ citations. The Debug ID isD407567313

    Your Debug ID is showing you inserting two citations. It takes about 0.4s for the citation dialog to appear, and 6s to insert citations. For a big document with 200+ citations this is very normal.

    Some operations, like opening the Document Preferences dialog will take longer, even with "Automatically update citations" unticked.
