Add Note from Annotations not working at all

Hello, I am using both Zotero 6 on iPad and desktop (Mac). I have clicked on "Add Note from Annotations" in the library view (from PDF files annotated within the Zotero app and using other apps) and cannot for the life of me get it to extract any annotations. Nothing happens when I click this function. I've re-installed the app, too, with no change. Help, please!

Here's one on the first page. I seem to get this error on every PDF I have in Zotero, too.

Those are pencil draws. They're not associated with text

Does that count for highlighted text, too? Is it just writing in the margins? I'm not sure, I can't get it to extract any kind of marking I make.

Actual highlights tied to the text should show up in the Annotations tab of the left sidebar and be extracted to notes. If something is just a pen tool — no matter the styling — it won't be.

Ok. Gotcha. I have highlights here that still aren't being extracted in the same PDF. I used the pen to make these, though, so not sure if that would produce the same effect?

No, those are all just pen marks. We’re talking about standard PDF highlights made by selecting text.
