Automatically grabbing pdfs in EBSCO
Hi there!
I apologize if this question has been answered. I reviewed the discussions and wasn't able to identify a solution, so I would appreciate any help you all could provide.
I am trying to automatically capture the .pdfs associated with articles in an academic database I use. The database is hosted by EBSCO and my university has a subscription to this database. I have no problems capturing the bibliographic information, but I can't seem to get the associated .pdf to download at the same time. I've tried using a VPN when I'm off-campus and that doesn't seem to help either. Of course, it's possible for me to save the .pdf in Downloads, then attach it to the appropriate Zotero entry, but this isn't the level of functionality I have experienced with Zotero in the past.
In fact, I recently started using a Mac instead of a PC, so I don't know if this difficulty is something that's occurring because of a) changes by EBSCO, b) changes with my OS, or c) something else. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas you all might have for me!

If yes, could you tell us the database name and a search string on EBSCO to replicate this?
If not, check if the "automatically attach associated pdfs" option is checked in the general tab of the Zotero preferences.
Thanks for the super-fast reply. Yes, attaching pdfs works with other databases (including JSTOR), and the "automatically attach associated pdfs" option is checked in Zotero preferences.
I'm trying to use PsycINFO through EBSCO. An example search string might be: "AU gross and emotion regulation" (with linked full-text selected). Though I could theoretically capture bibliographic data for all of the 28 results, none of the accompanying pdfs will download. I also tried exporting information through Direct Export, but same deal. The only thing different is that a link to the page is included when I try the latter approach.
Nothing you can do at the moment, the EBSCO translator has been a bit of a nightmare throughout and constantly breaks. Maybe one of the developers knows if this is new or if there is an open ticket.
