Has anyone tried to upload from Zotero to HAWC?

The issue I am encountering is when I try to upload the .ris file, HAWC sends an error message that says "ID field not found for all references". I have not found a solution to adding unique IDs in a way for HAWC to read and I am having trouble understanding how to utilize the Zotilo plugin (which seems like the best solution?).
Anyone experienced this?
