Digital Highlighter Integration?

Hi,
Has anyone found a way to integrate "digital highlighters" with Zotero? For those who aren't familiar, digital highlighters are essentially optical scanning pens that capture text from physical documents. Many on the market are geared toward ESL students since they can read text out loud and sometimes also contain dictionaries built-in. As they exist, digital highlighters scan text and copy it either to some piece of phone/computer software (Word, Evernote, etc.).

Eg: https://www.irislink.com/EN-CA/c1708/IRISPen-Air-7---Portable-Digital-Highlighter.aspx

Ideally, you'd be able to take one of these devices, enter/scan/designate (?) the text you're reading, and then have it associate captured text with that reference. Rather than simply copy text digitally, then, the pens would recognize the text comes from a particular reference and add citation information accordingly.

My apologies if this isn't clear. I'm trying to find the language to describe a device that doesn't yet exist, as far as I can tell. If anyone here can figure a work-around—or is willing to create the software...—it'd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
