How to remove a, b etc...of papers in my bibliography

Hello,
in a long document I have cited multiple time one paper and the reference appear like Smith et al. 2004a, Smith et al. 2004b, Smith et al. 2004d..
I have checked in my library and I do not store any double for this paper.
Could you please tell me how can I fix this issue?
thank you in advance

The citations are duplicated INSIDE the document somewhere. If this is Word, toggling Word field codes can help you find them. You'll want to delete all the existing citations for this source and replace them with citations from the same item in your library.
  • Thanks a lot for your quick response! I will try it :)
