Automating or triggering "Find Available PDF" function without manual intervention

I want to have Zotero running on my office computer, synching with a shared library (which does not store PDFs, just the citations), and when a new reference is added to that shared library, I want Zotero to automatically trigger the "Find Available PDF" function and store a local copy.

So if one of my colleagues adds a citation to the group library, Zotero will find the PDF and store it locally on my office computer. Then if I am running full-text searches, the PDFs will all be there already, rather than having to dig through and check if I have all the PDFs etc. Is that possible? If it isn't directly via a Zotero setting, is there a way I can trigger it either via an external call to the server used for Zotero Connect, or by scripting?
