When I give a footnote in Zotero, the search button opens a window on the desktop every time, how can I prevent this, where is the setting for this?

I don't know what you mean by that. Can you say more?

Is the issue that you're using Word in full-screen mode and it's switching you back to the desktop space when you use the plugin? Because that's unavoidable — the citation dialog is a separate Zotero window, so it has no way of appearing on top of a Word window in full-screen mode.

Actually it is not like that, I have experienced this many times from my friend's computer, we do not open a new window as you mentioned, a Zotero search button appears directly on the worth page.

I didn't say anything about opening a new window — I said it happens if you use full-screen mode.

You can provide more screenshots to show what you're referring to, but if you're using full-screen mode, what I said applies.
