Firefox 3.6 and Zotero 1.01.10 not compatible

The Zotero icon on the lower right of my screen disappeared after I upgraded to Firefox 3.6. I checked "add-ons" under Tools and the Zotero bar there says: Zotero 1.01.10 "not compatible with Firefox 3.6" and the "uninstall" icon is lit up. Is there a new version of Zotero that is compatible with Firefox 3.6? If I uninstall will my data automatically be transferrred to to the new version of Zotero when I download it? If not, how will I recover my data? Or should I upgrade Zotero rather than uninstall? How would I do that?

First, make a back-up copy of your Zotero library.
Then, just install Zotero 2.0. There is a big link to it from www.zotero.org - just click it.
in 99.9% of all cases this will update your Zotero library automatically and you'll be good to go immediately after restarting Firefox.
Do not uninstall Zotero, although you do not lose your data on uninstalling.
  • Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I cannot find my Zotero library. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. Zotero 1.01.10 seems to have disappeared from the program directory (or would I find it somewhere else?). I do have the library backed up on an external drive, however.

Where should I look for the library?
If I cannot find it, shall I download Zotero 2.0 anyway and then reinstall the library if I have lost it?
  • If you already have your library backed up (very recently) then you can just upgrade, though.
  • I found the Zotero files through Firefox Help/Troubleshooting, backed them up again, and downloaded 2.0. The files were all there, so I am ready to go.

    Thanks so much!
  • You're welcome!
