Upgrade StoragePdf library deleted locally?

I recently hit the limit of my online storage, which I originally thought was because I was syncing my local files with the online library. I switched this file syncing off in the preferences menu, but then I couldn't seem to open any pdfs. I have now checked my local Zotero/storage folder, and there are no pdfs in there! This is bizarre, because I have a google drive backup from almost a year ago where every folder has a pdf in it. I definitely did not go in and manually delete them all. How can this have happened, and is there any way of retrieving the local pdfs?

dstillmanThat would've had to have happened outside of Zotero, or you're misremembering and you added the files on another computer. There's no code in Zotero to delete files on disk separately from the attachment items.
