Android app: still not functioning correctly

The Android app on my Lenovo tablet doesn't allow me to enter new articles manually. I log in, choose enter manually, choose journal and as soon as I do that it closes the app and returns to my tablet's home screen. I have uninstalled & re-installed the app, but this continues to happen. I have been successfully using the web based/PC version, so it isn't an account error.
