Zotero not creating or displaying subcollections plus pop up issues on windows

Hello,
Zotero is not working for me today MArch 13 14:30 UTC.
Problems on the desktop and in Chrome for windows.

I noticed there was a new desktop WIndows version brandnew today.
I did the update desktop of program and connector in Chrome.
Did reauthorize.
Still does not work.

On Zotero desktop 6.0.36
I can't create subcolletions under one level.
I can't either display under one level either.

Note, no problem to create subcollections online.

On Zotero connector for Chrome
Also the pop up idoes not show the library.
Saving occurs eventually at the place where zotero desktop is pointing.


I notice the site is up and down. Still does not work when up.

  • You shouldn't be doing anything with authorization in the Zotero Connector if you're using the Zotero desktop app. That's for saving directly to your online library, and Zotero will prompt you automatically if that's necessary. If you're using the Zotero app, you shouldn't even give it permission to save to the online library.

    The Zotero Connector saves directly to the Zotero app by default, and it will let you choose a collection when you're doing that.

    Restart your browser, make sure the Zotero app is open, and try again. If you get a warning that Zotero isn't available, see https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/connector_zotero_unavailable — don't give it permission to save to your online library.

  • Thanks. I still have problems.
    I have workaround it a bit as able to rename the first folder as ZZZZ, now the first folders quite of work.
    I am trying what I can but basically deleting as much as I can, moving it to other libraries.

    Why is there not an option to rebuild the local library from the online one?

    I tried the option to fix inconsistencies but it failed.

    Would the new beta program handle this inconsistency better?

  • Sorry, but I don’t know what you’re saying here. Feel free to write in your native language, but it’s not at all clear to me what the problem is you’re experiencing or what this has to do with your original post above (which was entirely about saving directly to the online library instead of to the app).
