Not able to switch from Chicago note to Chicago author-date style

I have my document in footnote style. But now the journal has changed its style to in text author-date. I have tried to change the style from the preferences menu. I have selected Chicago 17th ed. author-date style. But the footnotes are still in the footnotes. Any way that I can change the footnote to in text author-date style
