Shortcut for adding annotations in Reader?

Is there any way to add a keyboard shortcut to Zotero for adding an annotation inside of a PDF? I am used to being able to at least right-click in Adobe at the exact point in the PDF where I want to add my note. It makes for a much less smooth workflow to, every time one wants to add an annotation/note, go up to the top menu, select the annotation tool, then come back down to the text you're at and click again to add the note. Might there be a plug-in that allows for this?

Alt/Option + 1 / 2 / 3 /etc.

For highlights you can also just select text and then choose a color.

Thank you. I'm only looking at adding notes. So I can get the steps down to opt-3 + click. Is there any way to change this shortcut by the user to conform to hotkeys they use in word processors and other readers?

It could be done with a plugin, but there's no built-in way to change this, no.
