Upgrade StorageCannot add citations to any file (even a blank one)

I've been working on a document with many citations and have been repeatedly getting the "Zotero experienced an error updating your document" bug. This is always on libreoffice v7.6.5.2. I have two machines, both have a problem with the file. I was able to copy the text over (as per troubleshooting suggestions) and it worked as of a couple days ago.
Today I cannot even insert anything into a new totally blank document. I have tried this on a windows machine (also LO) and a debian-based machine. Same issue. I had been using Zotero 6.0.3 but tried Zotero 7 beta hoping it'd improve things. The report ID is from the Zotero 7 build installed just a few minutes ago. Same bug. Zotero is now entirely unusable to me.
Oddly enough, I never had this bug before, and it started after zotero updated recently, so it seems possible something in the update corrupted the file. That doesn't explain why blank files do not work either, though.

Any suggestions on how to prevent or what exact file might be a mess would still be welcome.
