  • Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through this error?

    (3)(+0000002): Alert:

There was an error starting Zotero.
There's something very strange about your system configuration. For some reason Zotero is getting a generic error trying to query the system about default handlers for HTTP and HTTPS links.

What exact version of Windows is this? Is this an institutional computer? Are you running any security software that might be interfering?
  • This is an institutional laptop - below are the version details

    Edition Windows 10 Pro
    Version 22H2
    Installed on ‎13-‎09-‎2022
    OS build 19045.4046
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19053.1000.0

There is no security software running except Anti-virus.
  • You should restart your computer if you haven't. You can also try playing with your system browser settings. We've only seen anything like this once before, and we never heard back on whether they were able to fix the problem.

You can also try the Zotero 7 beta. There's no particular reason to think that that will work better, but if we put any sort of workaround in place, we'd do it in Z7.
