sync failure between zotero and different word processing software: word / office / drive

Error report ID: 1411159133

After a few citations, the references are no longer synchronised with the document.
The updates have been carried out correctly, however, the citations have been stored in the "fields" or "bookmark" tab depending on the type of document.
  • I'm not sure what you mean by this. See Steps to Reproduce for the kind of description we need.

After a few citations in my Word document, I can no longer add additional references from zotero, it starts bellowing and I have to quit the application.

This also happens in google drive and office.
  • You don't seem to have read the page I linked to. Remember, we can't see your screen — saying that it's "bellowing" doesn't give us any way of helping you. If you want our help, you'll need to read the section I linked to and provide that kind of description.

I use the Vancouver style for my bibliography. When I insert a zotero citation, the (associated) number inserted in the text is inconsistent with the rest of the bibliography. The "refresh" tab doesn't work either.
  • Is this information clearer?
  • Delete the bibliography and reinsert it with the Add/Edit Bibliography button.
  • when i delete, and press Ad/Edit again : no bibliography appears
  • What exactly happens?

If you don't mind sending the document to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread, that might be faster here. It's really hard to follow what you're doing.
  • I'd be happy to send my document in the morning in that case.
  • The bibliography is just outdated. It has 18 references. If I click Refresh in your document, it updates to have 8 references, reflecting the current active citations in the document. Other citations in the document were flattened, which would've happen if you (or someone else who edited the document) saved the document in the wrong format. You'll need to reinsert those, as explained in Existing Citations Not Detected.

If you highlight text containing the citation numbers, you can see that some will have gray shading (the active Zotero citations) and some won't (the ones that are just plain text). You can also update your Word settings to set field shading to Always, which will make it easier to find the citations that need to be reinserted.
