Syncing Document Notes

I added multiple documents to a local library and made highlights and annotations to them. However, I clicked "Link to File" when doing so; when sharing the library with others, they told me they cannot see any of my notes or highlights, only the documents. When I checked the web library, clicking a document just opens the link to it online, and indeed there are no visible annotations. I suspect the problem is that Zotero is not actually storing the files. Do I need to go through every single paper, click "Store Copy of File," and redo all my annotations in order to share them online, or is there some way around this?

Annotations taken in Zotero PDF reader is stored in Zotero database. Since they are not embedded in the PDF itself, sharing PDFs don't share annotations with them. One way to share annotated PDFs is to use "save as" menu from the file menu at the toolbar of PDF reader. I don't know if there is a way to save multiple items with their respective annotations or not.
