Mac search (spotlight) for Zotero entries

Hi, apologies if this has been covered before, I couldn't find it in the forum.

At present, when I enter the title of a paper into the "spotlight" system search on my mac, I typically find the PDF that's saved in Zotero storage as one of the top results. This is a good start, but really, I would like to find the *Zotero entry* of the paper, and when clicked it should open Zotero with that entry selected.

Is this hard to implement? Could it be customized as to which fields get indexed by the system search (e.g. Title, Creator, Citation key)?

    This used to require writing out an individual file on disk for each entity you wanted to make searchable, but it looks like Apple added a framework a few years back that would make this easier. We can look into this, but not sure when we'll get to it.

    For now, you'd need to use a plugin for one of the third-party launchers: LaunchBar, Alfred, Raycast, etc.
