Upgrade StorageError message when inserting citation in Google Docs

I repeatedly get an error message saying that Zotero is having trouble linking to the document whenever I try to add or edit a citation. The document was functioning with no issues just a few days ago. Errors began after I cleared two pre-existing citations. But, in general, the whole Zotero app is acting buggy and has crashed several times, hesitates for long periods on the red bar, etc.
