Add Attachment

When I Add Attachment --> Attach Stored Copy of File, it first attaches a copy of the file with a link icon on it. Then when I attach the same file again, it comes attached without the link icon, which is the actual file. How can I simply Attach the actual file without having to attach it twice?

    Zotero will attach a copy of the file as a stored attachment file (under Zotero\storage), unless you have a plugin active that is designed to create linked files instead, such as Zotfile. If you don't want that behaviour, disable the plugin; or in Tools\Zotfile Preferences under General Settings\Location of Files you can set Attach Stored Copy of File(s) to ON.
