Z7 make citation styles more consistent across the app

AFAICS there are three different citation styles:

1. The one for exports which is configurable.
2. The Chicago-like that's used for "Insert Citation" in notes.
3. The Chicago-like that's used for annotations included in notes.

2 and 3 aren't configurable and, moreover, they are not exactly the same. For example, 2 will insert "page N", while 3 abbreviates it to "p. N".
  • The format in notes is currently just a generic author-date placeholder intended to let you 1) get back to the item in question via the UI and 2) insert notes via the word processor plugins with active Zotero citations in your configured citation style.

It wouldn't work to make it settable to a real citation style in the notes without committing to supporting all the advanced citation functionality of the word processor plugins (bibliography support, footnote support, ibid, name disambiguation, etc.), which we're not currently prepared to do.

We'll fix "page" vs. "p.", though.
  • Ok, I was expecting something like that to be the reason for 1 vs 2/3, it makes sense. Thanks for looking at the page thing.
