"Zotero is already running, but is not responding." after system recovery

Windows 11 updated 2 days ago and I've had another problem since. That's why I thought it was smart to restore my system to before the last update. Unfortunately, that has cost me some hours today and nerves. In the case of Firefox, I could somehow fix it with these instructions by removing a file called parent.lock file and unchecking the "Read Only" box in a folder: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-already-running-not-responding
But so far I've been less successful with Zotero. I unchecked the "Read Only" box in different locations related to Zotero but it still throws the same error: "Zotero is already running, but is not responding. The old Zotero process must be closed to open a new window." However, I've noticed that it always jumps back to "Read Only". Is that the right way to fix this? How can I make sure it works? If not, how can I keep/restore my library if I'm forced to reinstall Zotero? Thank you very much!
