Transfer Annotations to Another PDF

As discussed in [1] and [2], if a PDF is missing, is there a straightforward way to transfer annotations of the missing PDF to another PDF? Given an option, one can just click "Find Available PDF" and then perform a "Restore Annotations".

    If a PDF is missing, you can just use Locate in the file-not-found dialog to automatically copy the new PDF to the correct location and then delete the new PDF.

    There's not going to be any other way to do that, because we can't assume that some other file downloaded via Find Available PDF or any other way is actually the same exact file with the same pages that will line up with the existing annotations. But you can always relocate a missing file.
