"Link to external site" problem
I've noticed several references to this problem in the user forums going all the way back to 2020: along with the author information, Zotero imports an extra "author" field that says, "Link to external site, this link will open in a new tab."

Some context: The problem occurs when you save an item from a database on the ProQuest platform, but it doesn't affect all items. Specifically, it occurs when there's a link out to an author's ORCID profile within the ProQuest author information.

There's no solution except to manually delete the extra fields from your Zotero item info.
I recently reported the problem to ProQuest tech support and got this non-response: "ProQuest does not develop or maintain the Zotero "connector" – that approach uses screen scraping of the HTML to parse out metadata into the appropriate fields needed for bibliographic management. We do not have the capability to maintain that code."
So, I'm hoping to bring the issue to the attention of a Zotero developer.
