Tags in pdf text highlights

Hello,

I have been highlighting text and putting tags on the highlight but that tag doesn't seem to be searchable in the library tag section. Is there a ways that tags put in a highlighted text within a pdf (in Zotero) automatically are allocated to that library publication?

In another discussion developer dstillman told that highlights will have tags that are searchable in a future implementation. This will also include showing highlights in item list.
