[Question] - Mirroring zotero storage folder on several computers

edited February 14, 2024
I use Zotero on two different computers:
- one using Windows OS (with a storage folder in "C:\userFile\zoteroStorage").
- one using Debian (with a storage folder in "home\userName\userFile\zoteroStorage").

Zotero softwares on both computers share the same library which is connected to online storage with all files synced.

My Zotero library contains items with [linked files](https://www.zotero.org/support/attaching_files#stored_files_and_linked_files) (with [relative base directory](https://www.zotero.org/support/preferences/advanced#linked_attachment_base_directory) in "\\userFile\linkedFiles").

I regularly mirror the two 'userFile' folders on both computer (the files and subfolders contained in these two folders are identical after each *mirroring*). Then the 'zoteroStorage' is also mirrored regularly.

# Question
1. Is there any arm or potential side effects in mirroring the 'zoteroStorage' folders on two different computers (with different OS) using the same synced library?
2. What could append if one computer is offline during an item modification and a mirroring?
3. Should I just mirror the base directory for linked files in order to avoid any problem and let the online syn "mirror" the library on both computers?
