Upgrade StorageZotero can't communicate with server when adding papers.

Recently I keep running into a problem with adding papers to my library. I use the Zotero web interface. When I try to add an article using the 'Add by Identifier' function, I get the error message "Error Unable to communicate with Zotero server. Please check your connection."
This is odd since my connection is good and I am using the web interface without issues otherwise.
I couldn't find much information regarding this error so I was wondering if someone here has had the same problem or knows a solution.
