Deleting files for more free storage?

I got the message that i reached the maximum of 300 MB and therefore cant save any more files. I then deleted all old files i dont need anymore, also in the trash. But still i cant save new ones.

Do i have to buy more storage now? Or does it just take a while until Zotero recognizes that i deleted most of the files and therefore have free storage again?

Thanks so much in advance.

Your online storage quota and current usage on Zotero storage is shown here:
    https://www.zotero.org/settings/storage

If you have used up your online storage quota, then syncing of new items to Zotero online storage will not be possible. You can of course always store an unlimited amount to your own computer. It does take a short time for deleted items/emptied trash to be reflected in your displayed online storage usage. But there is obviously no guarantee that what you have deleted will be sufficient to bring you under your quota. If so, the displayed values won't change ...

You can get an approximate idea of how much space you need by looking in your operating system for the total size of everything under Zotero\storage.

Some alternative syncing options are outlined here:
