Double click behavior when Zotero pane is "maximized"

I know that I can shift-double click an item in my library to open it in a new window, but I think that the default double click behavior could be smarter.

If I have the Zotero pane expanded to take up the entire browser window, chances are that I don't want to open attachments or snapshots invisibly, behind it, when I double click them. The "unmaximized" behavior should stay the same, because the attachment immediately becomes visible and there's no danger of confusion.
