My sync arrow has been spinning and my library hasn't updated

It has been over 90 minutes and upon looking I see that my library hasn't synced to the web, possibly for a couple of days.

I am not getting an error, just the spinning arrow.

I have been doing a lot of work on it lately (clean up and notes). And I just upgraded to unlimited storage because we were at 92% full.

Please help, I am getting nervous!
  • Restart Zotero and try again. If it still happens, we'd want to see a Debug ID for Zotero startup through a few minutes of the spinning, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option.
  • Thanks so much.

It stopped spinning, I ran the Debug ID, and things seem to be back online.
  • To be clear, the Debug ID would've just been provide us information. That didn't fix anything on its own.
  • Right *slaps forehead*.

What I am now noticing: Zotero is syncing between my computers, but here in the Web Library it still is not.

    Does that suggest an issue?

(As you may have noticed: I am not a strong "behind the scenes " type user.)

Not sure what you mean by that. The web library shows your online library. Your individual computers sync with the online library, not with each other. So it's not possible for multiple computers to sync without the changes showing up in the online library.
  • Thank you for this. I see what I was missing (I am not accustomed to looking at the Web Library).

So a follow up question: how long can it take to sync with 300 upload/download speeds? I was adding a lot of research this morning, but not necessarily more than usual.
  • Syncing should be fairly instantaneous unless you're uploading some large files (but even that wouldn't take long at 300/300). It might have just been stuck for some reason and restarting fixed it, or there could've been some temporary issue that resolved itself.
  • Thank you so much for your help!!
