adding biliography from word document to zotero

Hello- I have inherited a word document with 60 references. I need to update the document and want to add the citations to zotero. is there an easy way to do this?
  • While you can get the cited items into Zotero using https://rintze.zelle.me/ref-extractor/
you cannot, currently, imported the items and have them connect to the actual citations. In other words, while you can work with the items cited in the document (e.g. re-citing them, adding other citations, etc.), you cannot update their metadata from within Zotero (or otherwise except for a rather technical option).

If the references in your inherited Word document are not actually live Zotero (or Mendeley) citations, but just plain text, you can instead use the AnyStyle website to extract the references from the reference list and export/import into Zotero. There are several youtube videos showing how to use AnyStyle with Zotero.
