Application not responding

Ive downloaded the application multiple times (deleting the old ones as I go) however the application wont open and i keep getting the error message "application not responding" on my mac. I have an assignment due saturday and its required I used this software so please help. I also downloaded the chrome extension

    I am having the same issue I'm using mac Sonoma (14.5). Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Just to be clear, Zotero is in your Applications folder, and you're opening it from there?

    Is this a personal computer or an institutional one? Are you running any third-party security software?

    What Mac is this?
