How to Replace Online Library With My Local Library?

Experiencing significant frustration, I've encountered a syncing issue with my Zotero library, which is approximately 3GB in size. For the past year, I have not synchronized it with Zotero's cloud storage. Recently, due to the necessity of working on a different computer at my workplace, and to facilitate easier access to my files stored on my MacBook, I opted for Zotero's storage plan, investing $60 for a 6GB capacity. Upon initiating the syncing process and being prompted to choose between "local item" and "remote item," I consistently selected "local item" to ensure all my local files were uploaded to Zotero's cloud. However, upon completion, I discovered that half of my local files were missing.

Fortunately, I had a backup from two weeks prior, which mitigated the loss somewhat. Attempting the syncing process again with utmost caution yielded the same disappointing outcome—files were still missing. Despite extensive online research, I've found no solution.

I seek guidance on how to effectively replace my online library with the contents of my local library without losing any files.
