Freeing up space

I have reached the 6GB storage limit and would prefer not to go for the next option up with is unlimited (a bit to expesnive for my liking). I would like to remove some uncessary large papers or even ebooks taking up space that i may have been adding through the years, and would like to find a way to locate some uncessary an oversized papers / ebooks. Is there way to do this without purging everything and keeping just the titles of the papers / ebooks?
