Zotero 7 Redesign item pane suggestion: Ability to close disused sections
For example, I don't use the related section at all, ever. Therefore, it would provide a better overview of the section that I *do* use, if I could just close the related section permanently.
Of course, should I change my mind later, there would have to be a view, layout or context option to reopen the closed section.

dstillmanAll the sections are collapsible. Do you mean the ability to hide sections?

FeralFloraedited January 26, 2024Yes, to hide it so that the icon is not visible / present in the vertical list.
-
dstillmanWe can consider this. (The section would probably have to be shown automatically if there ever was data in it.)

FeralFloraThat sounds like a good idea in case people accidentally close a section. But then again, someone might also switch up their workflow. For example, they might realize that they don't actually reference the related section anymore, and therefore, they don't need to see it anymore. Might be prudent to consider user autonomy in cases like this.

dstillmanThat's a fair point.
